Queensland ‘s #Coaldrake Commission interim report (21 April 22) into the culture and accountability of the Queensland public sector reveals that the state government has problems with
“1) overreach of ministerial staff,
2) the INFLUENCE of #LOBBYISTS and
3) the erosion of functions designed to hold government to account.”
Perhaps this goes some way to explaining why the Gold Coast #Bulletin reported last weekend that the state Government has still failed to sign off on the #CityofGoldCoast#MyCityMyPlan well thought out and publicly mandated changes to the Local Plan?
As this lobbyist caused delay drags on and on greedy developers have even more time to thwart the clear will of the people as to changes to the City Plan that limit overdevelopment- particularly on the Southern end of the Gold Coast.
One wonders what interactions happened between lobbyists on behalf of the white shoe brigade to make the Queensland State Government appear as though they act more like their puppets than Ministers of State charged with taking care of the ordinary families who live and recreate on the Goldie.
Perhaps this warrants careful scrutiny by Professor Coaldrake as his investigations continue?
